Two dogs at Dogs Trust in need of special homes

I've received the following two appeals from Dogs Trust in the last few days. These two dogs really need a loving new owner to look after them. Could you help?

DOGS TRUST CELEBRATES MARVELLOUS CANINE MUMS THIS MOTHER’S DAY

Devoted doggy-mums are in need of paw-fect homes

On Sunday 14th March mums across the country will be eagerly awaiting cards, gifts and flowers; sadly no one will be sending tokens of love to these three doggy-mums.

Nessa, a little 4year old Terrier type was also found as a pregnant stray; she gave birth to her litter only days ago and has instantly taken to motherhood. This little dog has already given so much love to her brood, and will soon be looking for someone to give her all the love and attention she so deserves.

Snoop (left) a 13year old Collie type came into Dogs Trust’s Merseyside Rehoming Centre with her son, six year old son Bryn (right). These two are incredibly attached, and must be rehomed together – this means double the responsibility, but double reward.

Bea the Beagle was found wandering the streets of Ballymena as a heavily pregnant stray; she recently gave birth to seven delightful puppies. The stress became too much for poor Bea, who fell ill - staff were concerned for the pups and considered hand rearing them. However, Bea, ever the devoted mum looked after them dutifully throughout her illness and made a full recovery.

Partially blind and deaf puppy needs a loving home

p>I've just received the email below from Dogs Trust. If anyone could offer Ivy a home the contact information is at the bottom of the text. What a poor little pup - hope she finds someone special to love her. Here's the email:

Staff at Dogs Trust Darlington, Co Durham, have launched an urgent appeal to dog lovers in the North East to foster a beautiful, partially blind and deaf puppy in their care.

Ivy, a white Whippet cross, was born at the rehoming centre in October. While the three month old pup’s six siblings have found homes, little Ivy was not so lucky.

What I've been up to

I've been really busy on a variety of things lately, but I've managed to fit in two interviews which included my favourite thing - meeting dogs! And people of course!

Greyhounds waiting for new homes

A sad story in the news today is that more than forty Greyhounds are still waiting to be rehomed over a year after the track where they raced shut down. When Walthamstow Stadium was closed, the dogs who raced there for public entertainment suddenly found themselves out of work, and since then have been languishing at Whittingham Kennels, near Waltham Abbey, Essex.

Mom and son looking for new home together

Dogs Trust do an incredible job in the UK rehoming dogs and making those in their shelters as happy as possible. At my local shelter there are a mother and son looking for a new home together. They look lovely and I hope they are soon happily settled with a new owner. Bless 'em.
