A four year old Husky from Orpington, Kent stole the show and was given the ultimate accolade of being crowned Battersea Dogs & Cats Home’s Best Battersea Dog, which was sponsored by notonthehighstreet.com, at the charity’s Annual Reunion and Fun Day on Sunday 6 September.
Almost ten thousand animal lovers and their canine companions were in Battersea Park to enjoy the spectacle and make new friends.

Usually when you're walking your dog, any thoughts of a toilet nature are concerned with what the dog is doing. Sometimes, however, the "call of nature" is speaking to you, and at that point if you're out alone with your dog, just what do you do?
I was asked to look after these gorgeous dogs.
This is our red Siberian Husky, Chewbacca, so named because he looks and sounds like a small Wookiee. His nickname, Chewie, is also very appropriate, because he chews anything that he can get near. We think he has a plastic deficiency, but the vet has not confirmed this yet. He is a rescued dog and was one day of being put down at the Fargo pound. We started fostering him in March and gave him his permanent home in June. He now enjoys his big backyard, especially sitting on top of his dog house and watching his domain, just like in the Snoopy cartoon.
Duchess is a queen in her own mind. She is very sweet, and easily excited. She is a quick learner and at 13 weeks is almost completely house broken, minus the few accidents every now and then. She is a real lap dog and a mommy's girl! : )
