"Arctic conditions"

Wait - there's a camera.

The media has been bandying the phrase “arctic conditions” about a lot. Well, yes it’s been cold, and yes we’ve had some snow, but arctic? Not quite!

We have been out and about in it though, and Star loves the snow. I took this in our local park, and I love the way she is too busy posing for the camera to keep up with Jenny. She obviously wants me to get her good side.

Take care,
Julie x

Christmas Star

This is a photo of Star at Carols in the Square tonight. We learned a lesson when we attended the switching on of the Christmas lights in the square earlier this month. The lesson was that in a crowd with a small dog, you spend most of your time making sure the little dog doesn’t get trodden on. Or you give in and pick up the little dog, and then you can’t hold both your coffee and your brandy snap. Or your mulled wine and your roast hog, if you’re that way inclined.

Star out and about on Christmas night - safe from being stepped on!

Mud and a disturbed night

The other day we returned from a walk in the dark, and I hurriedly let the dogs out of the car and in to the house. Then I was distracted by another task – possibly shutting the ducks in for the night, bringing in something from the car, or most important task of all putting the coffee on! Anyway, it meant that by the time I made it into the lounge both dogs were settled on the couch.

Star had managed to get to the couch and fall asleep before I realised how dirty she was after a walk. Don't worry, she was cleaned up once she woke up.

Star was such a cute baby - I can't believe she was ever that small though!

Star and her ear obsession

I love this photo of Star finally getting her man. She had been trying for ages to lick his ear, and he had fended her off and fought valiantly for ages. Then at last she wore him down and he gave in.

She’s just so intent on licking, and he’s laughing and squirming at the same time, it always makes me smile.

Here, Jenny tries to get her Bichon Frise, Star to fetch a small dumbell. With some encouragement, Star trots down the course towards the item she should retrieve. However, once she gets there, she just won't pick it up - it's all beneath her. Jenny does her best to persuade Star, but finally, it Jenny who carries the dumbell back - along with Star too!
Well - it was all about fun, not winning.
