This is our red Siberian Husky, Chewbacca, so named because he looks and sounds like a small Wookiee. His nickname, Chewie, is also very appropriate, because he chews anything that he can get near. We think he has a plastic deficiency, but the vet has not confirmed this yet. He is a rescued dog and was one day of being put down at the Fargo pound. We started fostering him in March and gave him his permanent home in June. He now enjoys his big backyard, especially sitting on top of his dog house and watching his domain, just like in the Snoopy cartoon. My wife takes him to teach the winter animal week at her preschool. The kids pull his hair, ears, and tail and he just puts up with it, treating them like little puppies in his pack that just don’t know any better. These Siberians are the mellowest dogs I know. They do, however, need a lot of exercise, companionship, and cold weather. All of these Chewie enjoys with our family and his almost daily trips to the dog park in Fargo, ND.
