Animal charity Battersea Dogs & Cats Home has seen a 40 per cent rise in the number of Alaskan Malamutes and Siberian Huskies being dumped and abandoned at its doors, and the charity is concerned these working breeds are becoming the next must-have ‘status’ dogs in inner city areas.
i don't beleive there is
i don't beleive there is enough awarenous on the malamute and husky breeds of just how much time and enerygy the take up. they need a lot of exercise and patience. they are intelligent and loyal but very stubborn. its a shame to see these lovely dogs being abandoned. i have seen an increase in husky puppys in the small town i live in i do beleive it is true about them being a new 'in' thing. i own a cross of both these breeds and she is a lot of work but i beleive if you make the decision to buy these dogs you should take care of them properly no matter what. everyone i meet says i would love a HUSKY and my immediate answer to them is no you don't and when i tell them how much work it is they tell me they are glad they havn't.
