CELEBRITY JUDGES COME OUT IN FORCE TO SHOW THEIR SUPPORT
FOR DOGS TRUST HONOURS 2010
A host of fabulous celebrities have now been confirmed as judges for this year’s doggy extravaganza the Dogs Trust Honours. Organiser Dogs Trust, the UK’s largest dog welfare charity, is proud to announce the involvement of five canine crazy celebrities and their furry four legged friends including:
I got into conversation yesterday with a chap who declared himself a fervent dog lover. His enthusiasm for dogs was apparently only equaled by his dislike of cats. He had lived with both cats and dogs and could not see the point of cats, but a dog was your mate he opined. Then he said that the main reason he couldn't take to cats was that they only attached to humans to get food, and would be just as happy to be fed by somebody else.
Lots of ideas around at the moment as to what would improve the lives of dogs - compulsory microchipping and so on. Here's Dog Trust's response to the proposal to re-introduce the dog licence:

Just had an interesting email including the following:
Polly is a year and a half old Italian Spinone. She loves to walk in the mountains in Scotland where she will chase a pheasant if she spots one. She loves squeaky stuffed toys and she eats absolutely anything!
Oscar is about seven, but his age is uncertain as he was rescue dog. This black Lab was so well behaved his owners got back in touch with the shelter to check he really wasn’t claimed! He doesn’t bark and passed his Gold Good Citizen award – within a year of being rescued. He has a healthy Lab appetite – and loves chocolate if he can get his paws on it!
Timmy is a one year old German Spitz Klein. He is the youngest and smallest dog on the team. He likes to walk anywhere with big gundogs, which he thinks he is because he lives with thirteen other dogs! He’s not a fussy eater so will eat pretty much anything.
I sometimes wonder how Buddy feels about having to spend so much of his life waiting. He wakes up firing on all cylinders and ready to seize the day, but has to wait for me to come round, which usually involves ingesting sufficient caffeine. He dances about me in the kitchen waiting to be fed his breakfast. Then he has to wait for me to get some work done before we go for a walk, and of course if I co out he ends up waiting at home for my return.
Buddy is a Black Labrador who s seven years old and enjoying his second time in the Safe and Sound team. He likes chasing a tennis ball. His favourite place is on the beach where he enjoys paddling in sea but won’t swim! He adores cheese and has recently discovered cat food is yummy too!
Spike is an over-the-top Border Terrier who has lots of energy despite being eight years old. He lives with four other dogs, all female Border Terriers, but he’s the leader of the pack! He is extremely patient with puppies, he loves going anywhere with owner Julia but seems to be on a mission to destroy all toys he comes into contact with.
