Would you like to be involved in an upcoming "dogumentary"? Well here's your chance! Do you live, eat, breathe, and dream dogs? Maybe you're at a dog show or competition every weekend. Maybe your love of dogs lead you into your career. Maybe your dog writes a diary section in a radio show.........or maybe that's a little too far fetched. However it happened, if your life has gone to the dogs (in the best possible way) and you think you would make an interesting participant, use the contact details below:

We took our dogs for a walk today. It was a hot day (by UK standards) so we knew we would have to keep it short, walk in the woods where it was shady, let them paddle in the river and give them lots of water to drink. And when we ate our lunch we would find a table in the shade where we would all sit together. Before we set out on the walk, Anthony and I both wanted to visit the toilets. I popped in first while he waited with the dogs, then he went in while I stood outside with the dogs.
Here's some great advice from the RCVS about vacation care for your dogs:
‘Include veterinary care in holiday plans,’ advises the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons
If you are holidaying with your pet this summer, remember to find out about the arrangements for out-of-hours emergencies at a local veterinary practice before you go, advises the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS).
“Julie, I don’t know how to tell you this. It’s Luna.” Those were the words that issued from my mobile phone as I stood in the goat enclosure of a theme park in Cornwall. My Mom was at my house caring for the dogs, cats and the rest of the menagerie while we took a week’s break. Now she was ringing me with the news that every pet sitter – or indeed pet owner - dreads most; one of those in her care, despite her best attentions, had died.
Luna was one of our much loved, and looked after cats. She was an affectionate, agile, dainty, beautiful tortoiseshell cat. She was always the more active of the two kittens we brought home only nine months ago. She never caught up
I interviewed Catherine O'Driscoll in Episode 96 of DogCast Radio, and she talked about her personal experiences that lead her to found Canine Health Concern. She is very worried about the amount of animal vaccination going on, and it is indeed a worrying subject. We all want to do the best we can for our dogs, but it can seem we are trying to pick our way through a minefield. Here is the latest news from Canine Health Concern:
Just had this from Paul Keevil of British Heritage Dog Breeds:
The Worlds largest ever Sussex Spaniel Gathering - and its in Sussex!
I've received a very sad email which I've attached below. If anyone can help please do:
Hello I was just wondering if you could put an advert through your show please? I lost my Chihuahua dog "pip" when he ran out of my house on Monday. We are from Norton-on-tees but by now he could be anywhere in Stockton-on-tees. He is 8 months old and did not have his collar on but he was wearing a black "007" dog tshirt. His coat is a tan colour.
Please could you ask anyone with any information to contact us at 01642 892762.
I'm a great believer in microchipping - both our dogs and both our cats are microchipped. It seems to me the best way to improve the odds of getting your dog back to you should he be lost or stolen. If you're interested in microchipping your pet, here's an opportunity to find out more about it, and you can ask Emma anything you'd like to know about microchipping in the space above.
I've just got off the phone from Joyce Geier, talking about Border Collies in connection with an upcoming film "You Lucky Dog" which will be on the Hallmark Channel in June. I find the working life of Border Collies fascinating - and Joyce knows her stuff! I was also amazed to learn that there are over twenty breeds of herding dogs currently at work in America. The interview will be in the next episode of DogCast Radio, which will be available on June 12th.
Here's the press release to tell you more about the film:
